Film: Laida Lertxundi, Drums: Corey Fogel
highlights from a film portrait of me, playing drums in a candid live concert-setting, and also staged shots and ideas. The inclusion for STEIM isimportant to me because the film focuses heavily on residual, often isolated content yielded by my personal performance style and its effects on light, shadows, my body, my equipment, and surrounding objects. This idea, translated into electronic incidents or accidents based on intentional acoustical expression is what I am looking to explore. |

Purl Drums
Purl Drums is an exploration of the intersection of my two favorite activities, drumming and knitting. The specific point of intersection was the implements used. I tried to remain as loyal as I could to the purest or most authentic forms of each craft, and not indulge any creative leanings towards either. The result was something new altogether, based on the double duty/ mutual crippling of my knitting and drumming form and technique. |

Countercumulative Marcotting
The Prototypical 1st rendering of this dance + acoustic noise improvisation between me and approximately 300 metal black pepper containers worn on my body . An ambient performance in a public space without beginning or end. I encountered these containers at a confidential document shredding plant. |
